Instinct AI uses YouTube API Services to read your channel data and, when you choose, publish content to your channel. This page describes what we access, why, and how to revoke access at any time.
1. Required disclosures
- By using Instinct's YouTube features you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
- You acknowledge Google's privacy practices as described in the Google Privacy Policy.
2. Scopes we request & why
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly — read your channel metadata, uploads list, and per-video snippet/statistics/status so we can display your library, keep it in sync, and let you pick videos to work with.
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly — read your channel's analytics (views, watch time, average view duration, retention) so predictions and recommendations are grounded in your channel's historical performance.
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.force-ssl — (a) read comment threads on your own videos so you can review audience feedback next to each video inside Instinct; (b) upload finished re-cuts to your channel via
videos.insertwhen you click "Upload to YouTube"; (c) update title, description, tags, or thumbnail of a video you own viavideos.updateandthumbnails.setwhen you use the "Update original video" action.
We request only the scopes we need, act only on the authenticated creator's own channel, never post comments, never modify other users' content, and never aggregate metrics across creators.
3. Data we store
We cache channel metadata, video metadata, comment threads, and retention analytics to power the dashboard. OAuth refresh and access tokens are stored in a service-role-only database table that is never exposed to the browser and is used only to make YouTube API requests on your behalf. We do not download or store the full media file of your YouTube videos through the API.
4. Limited Use compliance
Instinct's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train generalized machine-learning models.
5. Revoking access
You can revoke Instinct's access to your Google account at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access stops further API calls; existing cached data is removed when you delete your Instinct account.
6. Data deletion
To request deletion of Instinct-stored data associated with your YouTube account, email hello@useinstinct.ai. We delete the data within a reasonable timeframe and confirm by reply.
7. More information
See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
